			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The ADD Creative site hasn&#8217;t delivered much action recently, for  which I apologise. Not really the greatest advert for a design and  marketing company that extols the virtues of regular updates to online  presence. I guess this is fairly indicative of my industry, we spend so  much time ensuring our clients&#8217; websites are bang up to date and working  effectively that we neglect our own. Still, I am looking at a total  redesign at the moment, more in keeping with the ADD Creative &#8216;creative  philosophy&#8217;.</p>
<p><em>It may take a while, but it&#8217;s on its way.</em></p>
<p>I have just returned from Venice/Amalfi Coast, which although was  incredibly enjoyable, has led to the following issue&#8230;<em><br />
</em></p>
<p><strong>Currently overloading the ADD Creative white board, sorry &#8211;  hi-tec, electronic job processing and management toool, there is:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>2 sizeable Chemical and Fluid Transfer based websites, that are  pushing the envelope within their industry.</li>
<li>A well known pub/restaurant website overhaul and redesign.</li>
<li>A site redesign and SEO contract for an already successful linen  company.</li>
<li>A local Church website designed to bring the community together and  encourage increased social interaction with the Church.</li>
<li>A new group website for a local entrepeurial colleague.</li>
<li>A new brand development and website for an amazing housing and DIY  new product.</li>
<li>New site for a UK Door Handle supplier.</li>
<li>Several ongoing monthly SEO contracts for Leeds/Bradford based  businesses.</li>
</ul>
<p>So, not much going on then&#8230;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>So, 2010 arrives with a blanket of snow and the chill of the recession continuing to bite. </strong></p>
<p>Early February, and we find Apple, deciding this the perfect time to launch &#8216;iPad<strong>&#8216;. </strong>Apple are calling it <em>&#8216;a revolutionary device for browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying photos, watching videos, playing games, reading e-books, and much more&#8217;</em>.  It may well be just 0.5 inches thick and lighter than any laptop or notebook, but will it be a success? Will it change the way we browse the internet? Does anyone want to carry something this size around, when your average modern mobile will be sufficient for &#8216;average Joe&#8217;s&#8217; browsing needs? So is it Fad or Rad?</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t have the answers, sorry!</p>
<p>And, believe it or not, I&#8217;m not &#8216;that&#8217; much of a geek or fickle fashion follower to even have the iPhone; not that I don&#8217;t like them you understand, I just wouldn&#8217;t make enough use of one.</p>
<p><em>Yeah, yeah, I know &#8211; I&#8217;m not typical but because I spend most of my week sat in front of desktop broadband internet, but you see where I&#8217;m coming from.!<br />
</em></p>
<h3>Closer to home</h3>
<p>After a slow start to January, not unusual in the design and advertising industry, but things are certainly picking up nicely. A few new clients on board, both graphic and website design and also some good sized SEO and SEM projects.</p>
<p>As a designer, first and foremost, I used to slump a little in the shoulders when faced with the technical aspect of improving client SERPS, but the more I&#8217;ve done it over the last few years the more I&#8217;ve begun to enjoy it. The marketing man in me loves the challenge of immersing myself in a client&#8217;s product and marketplace, before creating an indepth SEO report and subsequent website strategies. It isn&#8217;t always an easy process and results (gains or god forbid, failures) are easily tracked, which are of course by the nature of SEO inherent. But, as I don&#8217;t profess to operate in the higher echelons of the global SEO community, I&#8217;ve been able to positively affect the results for the size of clients I work with. That&#8217;s not to say these clients are small companies, the latest ADD Creative assignment turns over £3m + and is widely recognised within its field.</p>
<p>So, onwards and upwards, as I&#8217;ve been heard to say once or twice&#8230;.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m currently manipulating the pixels for a mobile hairdressing website, a respected dental practice site, a chemical valves and pumps website. Lots of other stuff bubbling away too, so fingers crossed for a successful 2010 for everyone.</p>

<p>ADD Creative helps launch a pioneering clean tech start-up business report for London based green news and media outfit, Greenbang. The Greenbang website delivers daily news and intelligence to some 120,000 global business leaders working for a low-carbon future.</p>
<p>This brand new Low Carbon Technologies Report delivers cutting-edge insights into the latest and most promising cleantech start-ups and will be published quarterly. The LCTR will provide in-depth analysis and how-to intelligence for investors, entrepreneurs and low-carbon technology leaders.</p>
<p>The project, which ran to a 58 pages, was designed to be informative and corporate, rather than creatively challenging to either reader or myself. Nevertheless, presenting technical data in a pleasing graphic style whilst being ergonomic with the information, is a challenge in itself. Even if that challenge is mainly down to self-restraint!</p>
<p>ADD Creative&#8217;s blossoming graphic design relationship with the guys at Greenbang continues to provide great insight into all things Green, something which is beginning to have a positive effect on the way I do business, think about saving energy and run the family home.</p>
<p>Long may it continue!</p>
